Maria João Oliveira is a PhD Assistant Researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (IS-UP), in scientific managment functions. She holds a First Degree and PhD in Sociology - specialised in Inequalities, Culture and Territories - by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP). She has particular interest in the study of the processes of social inclusion and development and on vulnerable populations and/or individuals at risk. Her career path has been characterised by scientific work in the areas of Migrations and Religions; and by scientific work, strongly associated with practice in intervention projects in Drugs phenomenon, Cooperation for Development field, and on Education. She has also experience in: Developing and writing applications for national and international programmes (e.g. EU Programmes, EEA Grants, UNDP, Open Society Foundations); Monitoring and evaluation (M&E) results and impacts of intervention projects; Team coordination; Scientific management.
