Main Qualifications

  • Degree in Sociology, at the University of Minho;

  • Specialization in Human Engineering, by the University of Minho (Postgraduate certification as a Higher Safety Technician);

  • Master in Human Engineering, at the University of Minho;

  • Master in Business Administration (MBA), at the University Fernando Pessoa;

  • Postgraduate in Integrated Management Systems, at the University Fernando Pessoa;

  • PhD in Sociology, at the University of Porto;

  • Title of Specialist in Occupational Safety and Hygiene (equivalent to a PhD for higher polytechnic education), awarded in public proofs organized by ISLA - Polytechnic Institute of Management and Technology under the Decree-Law no. 206/2009, of 31/08;

  • Post-doctorate in Sociology, at the Institute of Sociology - University of Porto and the Center for Social Studies - University of Coimbra

  • Post-doctorate in Human Engineering (OSH), at the University of Minho and University of Pernambuco.

Main academic activities

Coordinating Professor at ISLA – Polytechnic Institute of Management and Technology of Vila Nova de Gaia, assuming teaching and management positions: Director of the Degree in Occupational Safety Engineering;  Director of the Master in Occupational Health and Safety Management

Integrated Researcher at the Institute of Sociology - University of Porto, being coordinator of research projects/groups as the: RICOT - Research Network on Working Conditions; PBS - Social Barometer Platform.
