Abstract: The research aims to highlight the characteristics of safety at work culture in Portugal, and also to determine, based on different studies in organisational contexts, the levels and characteristics of workplace climate and organisational culture of safety in companies operating in Portugal. To understand occupational safety and health in Portugal, it is necessary to highlight and understand the risk and safety practices, values, attitudes and behaviours in force in Portuguese work organisations.
