Inês Maia holds a degree in Sociology from ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (2015) and a Master in Sociology from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (2017).
PhD student in Sociology at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (FLUP) and Researcher at the Instituto de Sociologia da Universidade do Porto (IS-UP), where she is developing, under an FCT PhD Grant, the research project "O fenómeno da praxe em contexto universitário portuense: discursos e práticas" (SFRH/BD/136101/2018). She has been dedicated to the study of this phenomenon, with particular interest in its rituals, in the dynamics of power and violence, as well as in the topics of youth and gender. Her work also reflects the methodological and ethical challenges associated with the investigation of a hermetic group marked by secrecy.
