Jorge Corsi holds a bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP), a master's degree in Sociology from Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto (FLUP), and is currently a PhD candidate at the Instituto de Sociologia da Universidade do Porto (IS-UP), with funding from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT). He also has two years of training in Economics from PUC-SP, focusing on subjects such as political economy, economic history, legal institutions, patterns of capitalism development, and introduction to economics.

During his bachelor´s studies in Social Sciences, he completed two junior research projects funded by the Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), where he studied the vulnerability and sociability conditions of Latin American immigrants in São Paulo as part of the project "Territories and Borders of Alterity in São Paulo." In 2017, he received the award for the best junior research project in the field of social sciences at PUC-SP. In 2021, he completed his master's dissertation on the identification process of Brazilian students at the University of Porto. Currently, he studies the impacts of neoliberalism, labor devaluation, and the generalization of precariousness on the work experiences and daily lives of restaurant workers in Porto. He particularly analyzes how these phenomena unfold in the extralaboral world and how, in the process of class construction, workers (re)signify the precarization of work and ways of life into new forms of sociability, dynamizing new political practices and attitudes, as well as new cultural and leisure activities.
