Scientific Coordinator of the community-based cinema project 'Clube de Cinema de Campanhã' (Active Citizens Program — funded by EEA Grants and managed by Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Bissaya Barreto Foundation) (2021-). PhD in Sociology — Cities and Urban Cultures (FEUC/2019), MA in Communication, Culture, and Information Technologies (ISCTE-IUL/2007) and BA in Sociology (FLUP/2000). Invited lecturer at the Faculty of Economics UP (FEP), Faculty of Fine Arts UP (FBAUP), Faculty of Arts and Humanities UP (FLUP), Porto Accounting and Business School (IPP), Portucalense University and Universidade NOVA de Lisboa. Was a Research Fellow at the Observatory of Cultural Activities (2000-2002), the Open University (2002-2004), and the Lusófona University of Humanities and Technologies (ULHT/2005-2007). She is an active member of the European Network for Film and Media Studies [NECS] (Film Festival Research Workgroup), and at the Association of Moving Image Researchers [AIM] (Film and Education Workgroup). She is part of the IS-UP’s Books Editorial Group. She regularly organizes and engages in scientific meetings and publishes on her main areas of interest: sociology of culture, film festivals, circulation and cinema exhibition, film audiences, cultural work, programming/curatorship, cultural policies, and cultural practices. Frequently collaborates with Portuguese film festivals and at film programming and exhibition activities. She is a jury at the Portuguese Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual [ICA].
