About

Abstract: The main objective of this research is the cultural and technical adaptation of the SafetyCard - Performance Scorecard for Occupational Safety and Health Management Systems, and related instruments, to the legislative and organisational reality of Brazil. Using a tool such as the SafetyCard provides a global and structured vision of the OSH reality of an organisation, which can be adapted to the legal/regulatory context and requirements in of any country. The fact that the tool was built in Portuguese makes it easier to be used in other Portuguese-speaking countries, in particular a country like Brazil that already has a good OSH legislative and regulatory structure in place. In this sense, it is scientifically relevant to culturally and technically adapt the SafetyCard to the regulatory and organisational reality of Brazil, allowing the scope of the tool to be expanded, and providing Brazilian organisations and safety professionals with instruments to monitor the performance of their safety management systems and also to comply with the requirements of the new ISO 45001:2018 standard.
