It will take place between 10 and 15 April in the parishes of Valtorno and Mourão, in the municipality of Vila Flor, under the title ‘Villages that know how to grow old’. The initiative is aimed at university students in their final year of a Bachelor's or Master's degree, between the ages of 18 and 30, from the fields of Sociology, Psychology, Social Education, Design, Architecture or any field in the case of students living in Vila Flor. Applications are open until 1 April.
As in the previous edition, ATPD is developing this project in partnership with the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (ISUP), the Laboratory of Landscapes, Heritage and Territory of the University of Minho (Lab2PT) and the Centre for Research & Innovation in Education of the Polytechnic of Porto (InED).
The Academy has the support of Vila Flor Town Council and the Valtorno and Mourão Parish Council. This project is a mixed model of research school, fieldwork and service learning for young university students, aimed at producing and disseminating knowledge on issues related to human rights in order to formulate recommendations for action for the future of the territories of Trás-os-Montes.
This year's theme will once again centre on the issue of quality of life in rural areas, particularly dignified ageing in the community. The Regulations for the III Academy can be consulted at https://drive.google.com/file/d/1qX0hts9Gx4E8P63UAxYoRKqtzoZl1DFi/view
