On the occasion of the twenty years of Pierre Bourdieu's death, the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (ISUP) promotes a cycle of debates dedicated to the work of the French author. Having taken place during the year 2022, the cycle continues through the beginning of 2023. Entitled "Bourdieu and his books", this activity is an invitation to read Bourdieu's sociological work, privileging the fundamental reference of his research constituted by the monographs, of different format and scope, which he has been publishing throughout his extensive and intense research path. To this end, going through different moments of his work, ten of his books and the comments resulting from twenty readings are privileged.
The 6th session of the cycle, dedicated to the work "Ce que parler veut dire" ("What to talk means"), will take place on January 5, at 4:30 p.m., in FLUP's Meeting Room 2, with online transmission by zoom.
The participants will be Cláudia Marisa Oliveira (Professor at ESMAE-IPP and Researcher at ISUP) and Carla Aurélia de Almeida (Professor at DH-UAb and Researcher at ISUP).
