The third volume of Cadernos do Instituto de Sociologia da Universidade do Porto arrives with the freshness of the start of a new academic year. We present here a general issue made up of texts by various researchers who have submitted texts of high scientific quality. We thus continue to fulfil our commitment to publish two issues a year, making room for thematic diversity in the first issue and focusing our editorial work on thematic issues in the second. Cadernos IS-UP continues to be aligned with the vibrant scientific activity of the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (IS-UP), attracting authors who carry out research within the scope of the centre’s thematic lines of research and establishing networked dialogues relevant to society. Dear readers, you can read texts in Portuguese, Spanish and French in this third volume. The multiplicity of languages enriches scientific communication and makes it possible to approach the complexity of social reality in greater depth.
