Ana Isabel Couto Holds a degree in Sociology from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (FLUP) and a PhD in the same field from ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon. She is lecturer in the Human Resources degree at Porto Accounting and Business School, Polytechnic Institute of Porto (ISCAP-P.PORTO) and in other public higher education institutions, namely at School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP). With extensive experience in research, she is researcher at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (IS-UP), coordinating the research line of "Work, Employment, Professions and Organizations", and at Centre for Organisational and Social Studies of Porto Polytechnic (CEOS.PP, ISCAP, P.PORTO). The main fields of work and research interests are: ethics and corporate social responsibility (CSR), Work-life Balance (WLB), SMEs and entrepreneurship, labour market, HRMD, gender studies, sociology of work and organizations. She has participated in several national and international conferences and is author and co-author of scientific publications in these fields. Member of the technical evaluation team of the 8th and 9th Editions of the "Equality is Quality" Prize, promoted by CITE (Commission for Equality in Labour and Employment of the Ministry of Economy and Employment), she has also collaborated in a reference consultancy, having integrated in 2013/2014 the national team responsible for the development of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) Portugal and Angola 2013 and participated in studies of public policies evaluation. In December 2022 ended the coordination of the national team involved in the European funded project EMBRACE- European Corporate Social Entrepreneurship Curriculum.
