PhD student in History at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (FLUP), where he studied for his bachelor's degree in History between 2021 and 2024. Previously, he graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto (FDUP) in 2017 and completed his master's degree in Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law – Porto School of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) in 2019, with a dissertation that received an honourable mention in the “Teresa Rosmaninho Award – Human Rights, Women's Rights” from the Portuguese Association of Women Lawyers (APMJ). He has presented his work at international conferences and symposiums and published the article “Madrugada das Canções dos Cravos: os Festivais RTP da Canção de 1974 e 1975” and the article “Eurovision Song Contest: symbol and political instrument in the construction of Europe”. He was also part of the project Between voices of music: Forging musical identities in Carlos Paredes’ guitar-voice collaborations in Fado-Canção de Coimbra and collaborated with the Porto Municipal Sound Archive in recording the podcast Festival da Canção: Invention and Reinvention of a Nation.
His historiographical interests relate to the use of popular music as a tool for interpreting and constructing national consciousness and memory.
