Bruno de Almeida began his design career in 2013, specializing in Design at the University of Franca, Brazil. His work explores visual narratives as critical tools for social transformation, blending design, illustration, and artivism. From 2015 to 2019, he worked at Tip Toey Joey, gaining international experience in visual storytelling and sustainable product development. Since 2019, he has led independent projects focused on collaborative and decolonial design, with a strong emphasis on ecology and collective memory. He holds a Master's in Industrial and Product Design from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Porto, where his thesis Corpos em Diálogo received top honors and was presented across Europe. His visual manifesto was featured in the European Parliament's Changemakers exhibition. His illustrations have been exhibited internationally and recognized by institutions such as the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and the European Parliament. In 2024, he published the award-winning book Gambiarra and was honored by the Aljube Museum and other Portuguese institutions in the context of the 50th anniversary of the Carnation Revolution. He is also co-founder of NIBA – the Immigrant Collective of Fine Arts in Porto – and continues to develop community-centered projects that engage with identity, territory, and social justice.
