Vítor Belanciano is a journalist, cultural critic, columnist, and author. He holds a degree in Social Anthropology and has pursued a master's in Anthropology and a PhD in Sociology. He has published books such as *Não Dá para Ficar Parado – Música Afro-Portuguesa, Celebração, Conflito e Esperança*, which explores how the artistic journey of second and third-generation Afro-Portuguese individuals reflects a desire for decolonization and a reevaluation of European and African canons and histories. He also wrote *Estás na Moda ou na Merda?*, a collection of reflections on the sociocultural impasses of our time. In addition, he has authored numerous essays and articles on culture, society, and socioeconomic dynamics, published in books (*Ten Cities*, *Lisboa Mistura*), magazines, newspapers, and online platforms. He was a guest professor at ESAD (Higher School of Arts and Design) in Caldas da Rainha and worked at the *Público* newspaper for about 25 years, where he served as an editor, coordinator, writer, and cultural critic. His work focuses on cultural reflections (music, arts, literature), broader social issues, and the interaction between politics, culture, and sociocultural dynamics. He regularly participates in seminars, debates, and conferences. Currently, he lives in Lisbon.
