José Miguel Ferreira Ricardo is a sociologist from Portugal. He holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Sociology from the University of Porto. For his master’s degree his research focused on Work, Precariousness and Digital Platforms, and the courier workers in the city of Porto.
José has contributed to international European projects such as JustGreen (COSME) and UNCHARTED (Horizon 2020), and worked as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Porto. At last, worked as a private contractor for the ECOSOCITIES project, focusing on the restructuring of growth strategies in Southern European cities amid the COVID-19 crisis.
Currently, is a PhD student at the University of Barcelona with na FCT Scholarship. The research project is entitled Digital Platforms and Urban Governance – A comparative study between Barcelona and Porto.
