Sandra Couto is a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Porto (2026) with a project on social representations and youth affiliations to the incel movement by youth groups in Portugal. A researcher affiliated with the Institute of Sociology at the University of Porto, she collaborated on the “SOIL” project, funded by the Horizon 2020 framework program, the “Núcleo IS-UP Museu da Pessoa” project at ISUP, and the “Uncharted” project, funded by the European Commission. At EAPN Portugal, she was part of a team responsible for the social diagnosis of Paranhos and Bonfim in Porto, seeking the creation of local micro-projects to combat poverty. As a member of the MAGNA Consultores team, she was responsible for the evaluation and monitoring of the “SJM Educa +” and “SETvidas + GPS” projects within the scope of PAOITI SJM, in collaboration with the Municipality of São João da Madeira. She was also responsible for the impact assessment of the “Divertir com o Saber” project by Gaiurb, EM, as her master's thesis (2023) and, subsequently, independently (2025).
