Abstract:
This research aims to find out to what extent feelings of insecurity, fear and vulnerability are integral elements of normative femininity and women's subjectivity. Although current studies point to the presence of this relationship, they do not take it as a specific object of research. Using a qualitative approach based on case studies, the empirical object of this research will be women between 18 and 34 years old, residing in the North of Portugal. It will explore the influence of social class, sexual orientation and typology of the area of residence (urban/rural) on that relationship. The main data collection technique will be the interview in a double modality: discussion groups and individual in-depth interviews. The research intends to contribute to fill a gap in national and international levels knowledge and support measures that promote objectives 5 (Gender Equality), 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
