Abstract: The focus of this project is to create an exhibition and catalogue of rock music from Porto in the 1980s. In fact, like rock, 25 April was a rebellion that was made official, going from an insurgent act to the pillar or ground zero of the new national identity. Using rock as a metonymy for 25 April, our archive looks back from the musical genre to the revolution that preceded it and asks: 50 years on, half a century after a protest became an undeniable truth, what happened after the radical dream of democracy became a constitutional reality? These ambivalences between past, present and future; local and global; orthodoxy and heterodoxy will be the leitmotifs of the exhibition plan on the 1980s.
