Abstract: The main theme of this project is the civic and political participation of youth in contemporary Portugal. We intend to respond to the diagnosis, persistently reiterated in the literature, pointing to the lack of political participation of young people. The project thus proposes an innovative approach that turns the attention towards less visible dimensions of participation, exploring what we call the "Arts of Citizenship". We are interested in investigating non-institutional territories of citizenship construction and participation in the public sphere, which rely on diverse creative dynamics, in order to unfold the political agency that remains often invisible and unaddressed beneath the creative agency in the youth.
