We have become accustomed to reading a special themed issue of Cadernos IS-UP at the end of each calendar year. This sixth volume is the result of a proposal by Maria José Araújo and Inês Barbosa, academics and researchers with a recognised track record in thinking about childhood, who set out to organise an issue that would bring together important contributions on the theme of ‘Childhood, free time and playfulness’.
