In this session, the research sub-group ‘Social Recompositions and Territories’ of the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto will once again present and discuss the work of its doctoral research members.
The session - entitled ‘Religion and Gender Equality: concepts, paths, setbacks’ - will be hosted by Elsa Correia Pereira and will take place online via Zoom on Wednesday 2 October at 17:30. The session will feature comments from Natalia Zawiejska and is co-organised by the Institute of Sociology at the University of Porto.
Elsa Correia Pereira is a doctoral student in sociology at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Porto (FLUP) and a research fellow at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (ISUP). She is a member of the coordinating team of the Sociology of Religion section of the Portuguese Sociological Association (APS). She is currently working on the project ‘The role of women in evangelical communities in Europe’ (FCT UI/BD/154276/2022).
Natalia Zawiejska is a researcher at the Institute for the Scientific Study of Religion, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland. Her PhD focused on the study of identity in Angolan evangelical communities in Portugal. She is currently researching Angolan evangelical and Pentecostal churches in London.
