This month, ISUP welcomes the teacher Gissele Alves, from the Federal Institute of Brasilia for two conferences. The first, on May 15, at 5 p.m., in meeting room 2, focuses on "Critical Discourse Studies and the Critical Social Sciences." It will address the process of building the field Critical Discourse Studies (CDE), from Critical Discourse Analysis; as well as the relationship of ECD with the Critical Social Sciences and with Qualitative Research.
On May 19, at 5 p.m., in meeting room 1, she presents: The Social Quota System for Admission to Brazilian Higher Education: Discursive Representations And Identificational Constructions - The Transposition of the Abyssal Line. The conference will focus on the presentation of her doctoral research woven by entanglements between the constructs of Critical Discourse Studies and Sociology, namely the Sociology of Youth and Education.
Gissele Alves holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Brasília/UnB – Brazil, with a PhD Internship from the University of Porto – Portugal, and a Master's Degree in Linguistics also from the University of Brasília/UnB. Specialist in Reading and Production of Texts by the University of Vale do Itajaí – UNIVALI – SC and graduated in Portuguese-English Letters and their respective literatures also by UNIVALI. Professor at the Federal Institute of Brasília / IFB, member of the Center for Studies of Language and Society of the Center for Advanced Multidisciplinary Studies of the University of Brasilia - NELIS / CEAM / UnB and the research groups: GECRIA - Critical education and creative authorship - PPGL / UnB and Language and Social Practices CSSB / IFB, member of the Latin American Association of Discourse Studies / ALED and Ambassador Alumni of Exchange of the U. Porto. Researcher in Critical Discourse Studies, Critical Studies of Literacy and Sociology of Education and Youth with a focus on identificational constructions, discursive representations, discourses of literacy, higher education and youth.
