This year marks the centenary of the birth of Amílcar Cabral, a key figure in the independence of Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau. His actions and thoughts against the Portuguese colonial regime still endure in contemporary social and artistic movements, as Dino D'Santiago's work recalls. As part of Science and Technology Week, the PhD Club and two student associations from Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau will be promoting a reading circle and musical dialogue between the words of Cabral and Santiago on 22 November, starting at 5.30pm at Jubilant Relax.
