Bourdieu and His Books: Practical Reading Exercises is the result of a cycle of debates dedicated to the sociological work of Pierre Bourdieu, which took place for over a year at the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of his death. Favoring the fundamental reference constituted by the books, of different formats and scope, written by Pierre Bourdieu throughout his extensive and intense sociological life, Bourdieu and His Books: Practical Reading Exercises discusses ten of his titles based on twenty contributions. These contributions include, in addition to writings by Pierre Bourdieu himself, texts by Annick Prieur, Carla Aurélia de Almeida, Cláudia Marisa Oliveira, Diogo Ramada Curto, Ester Gomes da Silva, Fernando Luís Machado, Franck Poupeau, Frédéric Lebaron, Inês Brasão, João Queirós, João Teixeira Lopes, José Madureira Pinto, Loïc Wacquant, Nuno Domingos, Pedro Abrantes, Virgílio Borges Pereira and Yasmine Siblot.
