Rafaela Ribeiro

Rafaela Ribeiro holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology (2019) and a Master’s degree in Sociology (2022), with a specialization in Social Policies, from the University of Minho. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology at the same institution. In 2025, she was granted a PhD scholarship by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) (ref. 2025.01019.BD) to conduct doctoral research on women’s participation in associative movements for the right to housing in Porto. The project is hosted by the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences – University of Minho Hub (CICS.NOVA.UMinho) and by the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (IS-UP). Throughout her academic trajectory, she has collaborated on research projects addressing migration, social inequalities and housing. In this sense, her research interests focus on urban sociology, social inequalities, housing, migrations, gender, and, more recently, activism.
