Catarina Ribeiro Cruz is a researcher and PhD student in Sociology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP). She began her academic journey with a Degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures, specializing in English and German , subsequently transitioning to Sociology, where she completed a Master's degree focused on Inequalities and Social Intervention. Currently, she is developing her doctoral thesis on fusion training pathways for professional development in the furniture industry in Vale do Sousa, a project supported by a research grant from the FCT. Throughout her scientific career, she has focused on the sociology of work, professions, and organizations. She is a co-author of publications centered on the figure of the cabinetmaker and the dichotomy between craftsmanship and operational work.
