Abstract: This project focuses on the construction of an archive on the Portuguese rock scene, in terms of artists/bands, discographies, national venues linked to the rock scene, but also on the collection of information, from media publications to radio/TV shows, books and editors/promoters/recorders, among many other elements that will certainly emerge during the research. All these elements will be complemented by the collection of various types of items and memorabilia, such as: records and discographies in various formats (vinyl, EP, LP, CD, tapes, among others); visual records (photographs, posters, tickets, letters, postcards, lyrics, annotations, serigraphs, etc.); audiovisual records (audio, videos, video clips, films, documentaries, series, interview records, sound recordings, etc.).
Dissemination of research findings (planned):

Opening the sociological scientific research démarches to a wider audience, meeting training/information requirements and also requirements of democracy nd openness to the public space and to the existing and lived city.

Establishing a platform for discussion, dissemination and reflection about Portugues rock, as part of a national multidisciplinary reflection on the topic of cultures, of DIY, independent publications, memorabilia and experiences.

Critical sharing of knowledge on the relationship between rock and society, embodied in the emergence of different types of publications and productions (catalogues, posters, websites, social media or blogs, among others).
Analysis of results (planned):

Systematise procedures for scientific collection and dissemination in pioneering areas of Portuguese sociology (and of social sciences and cultural studies in general), with the main emphasis on archives and memory.

Critical sharing of knowledge on the relationship between rock and society, embodied in the emergence of different types of publications and productions (catalogues, posters, websites, social media or blogs, among others).
Outputs (planned): Database and physical and virtual archive about Portuguese rock in the last sixty years, in articulation with key actors, entities and venues/spaces, among others, enhancing the visibility and scientific endorsement of this field of knowledge.
