The 4th Seminar of the Lusophone Network of Sociology, Management and Economics (SMEL Network) will bring together various social scientists from Portuguese and Brazilian academic institutions, particularly sociologists, managers, and economists.

This seminar – whose Opening Conference is dedicated to "Artificial intelligence and the future of public governance: ethics, capacity and collective intelligence" – synergistically joins the closing of the Mid-term Conference of the ESA's (European Sociological Association) RN24 Science and Technology – and will feature presentations marked by comparative perspectives between Portugal and Brazil on innovation, public and private governance, policy impacts, as well as on people management and education/training, in a comprehensive multi-sectoral approach, from tourism to industry, including health, pharmaceuticals, and energy.

Highlighting the launch of the collective book "Innovation, People and Society: Brazil-Portugal Dialogues in an Applied Perspective," which is the result of the SMEL Network's work over the last 3 years.
