On going
About

Abstract: The GENARTMENT project explores how art, literature, and creative methods can bridge generations and enhance civic engagement among children, youth, and older adults. Focusing on both analogue and digital experiences, the project encourages reflection, cooperation, and knowledge exchange in small community groups. By integrating participatory research, GENARTMENT aims to foster citizenship among youth and increase digital participation for older adults. The project will develop innovative tools and a practical methodology for educators and community leaders, supporting intergenerational communication and creative civic participation. Ultimately, GENARTMENT seeks to inspire inclusive, democratic communities through the arts.

Scientific Area: Sociology, ethnography

End beneficiaries / Target Population: Children, young people, older adults (mainly students and teachers as well as volunteer citizens)

Outputs: The project will result in an authored book, which will include an activity handbook (toolkit for practitioners) and a methodological framework based on the researchers’ experiences. In addition, the project will produce a research article focusing on youth perspectives and generational aspects, as well as a working paper or debate article aimed at both academic and non-academic audiences. Project findings and outcomes will also be disseminated through conference presentations, community workshops, and creative outputs such as a playwright.
