Abstract: This project is situated at the intersection of three main fields: arts education in peripheral contexts; DIY/hacker culture as a strategy for autonomy, co-creation, and collective resistance; and electronic arts as a critical and experimental field. It is developed at FBAUP/i2ADS, IS-UP, and Oficinas do Convento (Montemor-o-Novo), adopting a qualitative approach that combines art-based and practice-based research. The research analyses initiatives of collective creation, technological experimentation, and critical pedagogy in contexts of low population density. It culminates in the implementation of an arts education laboratory, the development of a collaborative pedagogical kit, and the creation of a wiki platform for the genealogical mapping of electronic arts and DIY/hacking practices. From a critical and situated perspective, this proposal aims to rethink institutional models of arts education, promoting collaborative and intersubjective practices, poetic expression, technological autonomy, and decentralized cultural networks.
