This is the latest publication from the Social Observatory of Gaia's team, composed of two researchers from the Institute of Sociology of the University of Porto (IS-UP), Inês Maia and José Pedro Silva.
This work addresses three highly relevant themes for the lives of Vila Nova de Gaia residents – housing, aging, and mobility – which, now and in the foreseeable future, present significant challenges to local authorities. Beyond the individual interest of each theme, we emphasize the importance of considering them in an interconnected way: the future evolution of each will have implications that will extend to the others.
This study aims to be a useful working tool for the technicians of the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, a supporting document for local political decision-makers, and a reliable and up-to-date source of information for the general public of Vila Nova de Gaia.
